The upcoming season marks the third year of Thierry Fischer’s tenure with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León (OSCyL). This season promises an array of prestigious performances, including appearances at Germany’s Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Braunschweig, and a major residency at the Cartagena Festival in Colombia.

Continuing the exploration of Beethoven’s symphonies, the orchestra will present his Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth symphonies. Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz will join as a featured artist in residence, showcasing a co-commissioned concerto for cello. Notable artists this season include violinist Alina Ibragimova, flautist Emmanuel Pahud, violist Antoine Tamestit, violinist Augustin Hadelich, and cellist Alisa Weilerstein, along with Conductors-in-Association Vasily Petrenko and Elim Chan and guest conductors such as first-timers for the OSCyL such as Fabien Gabel, Mark Wigglesworth, Pierre Bleuse and Emilia Höving, and the return of Hugh Wolff, Pablo González, Jaime Martín and Krzysztof Urbanski.

The season promises a diverse repertoire, from works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Frank Martin, Stravinsky, Mussorgsky, Ravel, Strauss and Mahler, to Spanish masterpieces by Falla and Rodrigo, in a tribute marking the 25th anniversary of Rodrigo’s passing.
