Thierry Fischer is pleased to announce the extension of his contract as music director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León until the 2026/27 season.

Since joining the orchestra two years ago, Thierry Fischer and OSCyL have explored a diverse repertoire, blending classical masterpieces with contemporary works, and have expanded the orchestra’s educational outreach while also increasing their presence in and beyond the region, with concerts at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and in Stavanger, Norway. In the future, they will continue to expand their international presence with guest appearances at the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie and a residency at the Festival de Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, among others, while bringing internationally acclaimed soloists and guest conductors to Valladolid. Alongside Thierry Fischer, the orchestra’s Conductors-in-Association, Vasily Petrenko and Elim Chan, have also renewed their contracts with OSCyL.
