The Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo’s Season 2022 holds the title “Vasto Mundo” to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1922 Modern Art Week, which marked the start of Brazilian Modernism.

Highlights of the season include the “Viva Villa” series which celebrates the Œuvre of Villa-Lobos, Thierry Fischer conducting two of Richard Strauss’ most renowned symphonic poems “Heldenleben” and “Alpine Symphony” as part of the “Essential Strauss” series and a focus on Sibelius including his Symphonies No. 1, 2 and 3 and Finlandia as part of the “Maestro’s Choice” series.
